Privacy Policy

1. Data We Collect

Account information (email, display name, preferred role), farm data (name, location, beds, crops), diary entries, uploaded images, device configuration, and usage preferences (language, theme, temperature unit).

2. Location Data

Farm location text (city or region) is required for weather features. GPS coordinates (latitude/longitude) are optional and only collected if you provide them. Coordinates enable elevation-based crop advice and map features. You can add or remove coordinates at any time from farm settings.

3. Who Can See Your Data

• You: Full access to all your farm data, images, and diary entries.
• Farm members: Can view shared farm data (beds, images, diary) based on their role (owner, staff).
• System administrators: Can view farm names, member counts, and approximate locations for platform management. Admins cannot edit your data.
• Public: No farm data is publicly accessible. There is no public directory of farms.

4. Data Storage

Your data is stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the Asia Pacific region. Images are stored in S3 with automatic thumbnail generation. All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest.

5. AI Data Processing

When AI features are enabled, farm context (crop types, weather conditions, diary summaries) may be sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. No personally identifiable information (email, name) is included in AI requests.

6. Data Retention

Your data is retained while your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data (farms you solely own, images, diary entries, preferences) is permanently deleted. Farms with other members are transferred to the next owner.

7. Cookies and Local Storage

LitCrop uses browser local storage for session management, theme preferences, and farm selection. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics.

8. Your Rights

You can view, edit, or delete your data at any time from the app. To delete your account, go to Profile > Delete Account. For data export requests, contact the administrator.
